  2.             Welcome to TopGroup
  3.  
  4.      TopGroup is a fast, low resources program launcher and alternative
  5. Windows shell.  With a minimum of clicks you can launch files without
  6. navigating Program Manager groups. TopGroup maintains a clean desktop
  7. by eliminating Program Manager's windows and icons.  With TopGroup, you
  8. click on a single icon - - always on top - - to view a popup menu and run
  9. your programs. The launch attributes of each program may be configured,
  10. and system resources are monitored for continuous display.  TopGroup's
  11. icon supports drag-drop launching of files from Windows File Manager.

  13.      The registered version of TopGroup provides a startup group, multiple
  14. program launching via "suites", and customized drag-drop launching from
  15. the TopGroup icon.

  17.             System Requirements
  18.  
  19. --A 386 or 486-based PC with a hard drive, Windows 3.1 or higher, MS-DOS
  20.   3.3 or higher, a VGA or better color monitor, and a mouse
  21. --Windows Notepad editor on your system path
  22. --Visual Basic 3.0 run-time module VBRUN300.DLL in your Windows system

  27. TOPGROUP.EXE - The executable file for TopGroup
  28. TGEXIT.EXE - A required support file used for exiting Windows
  29. TGRELOAD.EXE - A required support file used for reloading TopGroup
  30. TOPGROUP.HLP - The TopGroup help file with registration form
  31. TOPGROUP.CNF - Configuration file for TopGroup with example entries
  32. TOPGROUP.BAK - A duplicate of TOPGROUP.CNF provided as backup
  33. TOPGROUP.SMP - A sample configuration file with more extensive examples
  34. READ_ME!.TXT - This text file with last-minute information and instructions
  35. DRAGDROP.VBX - Required support file used for drag-drop operations
  36. SBCEASY.VBX - Required support file used to display the popup menu
  37. DWSPYDLL.DLL - Required dynamic link library used by SBCEASY.VBX
  38. CMDIALOG.VBX - Required support file used by Menu Builder

  40.     You must also have the Visual Basic 3.0 run-time module
  41. VBRUN300.DLL on your Windows system subdirectory along with COMMDLG.DLL,
  42. which is supplied with Windows 3.1.  If your Windows system subdirectory
  43. does not contain COMMDLG.DLL, you should transfer it from your Windows
  44. distribution disks.  The VBRUN300.DLL file is available from CompuServe
  45. and most BBSs.

  47.             Installing TopGroup

  49.     All above files ending with DLL and VBX should be copied to your
  50. Windows system subdirectory.  All other files should be copied to a single
  51. directory reserved for the TOPGROUP files, for example, C:\TOPGROUP.
